Taken with Our 18 month old daughter went in this morning for an out pt surgery. She had a inguinal hernia, which is common in babies her age and younger. She got all dressed up in her little hospital gown and we waited nervously for the Dr. to call her in. There was another family in the waiting room with a little girl younger than Amelie. When their time came the dad started to cry as he said goodbye and handed over his little girl. I heard the Dr. say the surgery was scheduled for an hour and a half. Sitting there I prayed for the other families, Drs and babies. I also thanked God that even though this little surgery was scary for us there are families out there with tiny babies facing much more difficult circumstances. My husband and I went down to the cafeteria to have breakfast and before we were even done eating the Dr. called and said they were done and everything went well. We got to take her home a few hours later and she's doing great playing and eating like nothing even happen. I am very grateful to my family and friends for their love, support and many prayers. I'm also thankful for the awesome Drs and medical staff at Kapiolani Medical Center.
