23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
I don't like bickering Christians. We are all brothers, all Saints, ALL FLAWED. Everyone struggles with something.
Yes I do believe that if your brother is a true friend they will confront you because they love you and want to help or want to see what's best for you. And you should confront them as well, but so many times a discussion or correction turns into a full fledged blown out argument that causes more damage than good.
Why can't we all just get along? We're on the same side right?
You can have the best intentions, but yet achieve nothing because of how you do things.
Your approach as the above scripture states should be:
-Gentle
-Patient
-With Humility
-for the purpose of teaching
Remembering and Understanding that ~God grants them repentance, so that they may know the truth. (v.25)
It's not about YOU, what YOU do/say, it's what God CAN DO, WILL DO and what WE NEED TO LET HIM DO.

9 Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time. 10 If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them. 11 For people like that have turned away from the truth, and their own sins condemn them.
